A life is a life
Whether yours
Or mine,
While dreams
Remain as dreams.

Used to escape
A burning reality.
If a dream dies
Then your life
Slowly

Fades away from
An honest brightness
Formed from creativity
Which dims to a
Soft glow

Capturing the defiled
Imagination running
Away in an endless
Chase to save a
Cooling heart

Born from ones
Own life
That has been
Reduced to nothing
Except the past.

A life is a life, until it is no longer a life of your own.

Inspired by a class project that I only did half way.
