Deep in the depths of the forest,
An answer I must harvest,
A wish I hope to present;
“Big bro, where is thy presence?”
Once in a school not too far,
A little child was seen from afar.
Crying with loneliness and sorrow,
Who believes that there is no more tomorrow.
Again in a school not too far,
A fourteen year old boy was seen,
He tells the child he means no war,
For through the same experience he has been.
The boy was kind hearted and nice,
And through his smile the child has said:
“I have these reasons why these tears I shed,
Everyday suffering, to this I have led.”
The boy looked at him with a smile
But then he paused and thought for a while.
And alas he said something in relief:
“Do not cry, for in yourself you shall believe.”
I looked at him with pride and honor,
It’s like I passed an exam with flying colors.
I said to him with courage and admiration:
“Will you be my big brother and inspiration?”
At first, he was stunned and didn’t know what to say,
It feels like he doesn’t know what words to lay.
But suddenly he turned to me with compassion;
“I’d be glad to!” he said with dedication.
Ever since that day, I gained a lot;
Respect, honor, and even a greater thought,
I have enjoyed every single moment with him,
And treasured the memories within.
And now without a doubt,
His disappearance is what it’s all about.
That single moment I left him,
Ugh! These memories are haunting my sin!
I never saw him, no trace,
Just these awful memories I can’t erase.
Me with him is just a distant memory;
Oh those nice times with sweet melodies.
Oh heart, forgive me for what I’ve done!
My friend whom I treat as my ‘big brother’, gone!
I have left him in the middle of the dark,
No friends, no family, not a single spark.
Big bro, wherever you are,
Here or no matter how far,
A message of regret I shall say;
“I would want you back with me to stay.”
